Knowing God

Knowing God? ehm… that is impossible. Why? Because God is unlimited and can’t be understood by our limited mind. Right. These are dialogues that often we heard about knowing of God. By the way, is impossible to knowing God?
Truly, human natures mind unable to know God well. By our natural mind, we just knew God globally.
I have an illustration about knowing God. I illustrate God like the ice mountain. Human in natural mind as a man who looks at the ice mountain from the land. Maybe he used a telescope to explore the ice mountain, and he will make a conclusion about high of the ice mountain from the surface of the sea, temperature or something about it. Further more, he will predict what the reality of the ice mountain, but he wouldn’t explore it closer. I mean that the man knows the ice mountain limited by physical and prediction. He didn’t truly explore it.
So knowing God is not enough to be done by physical and psychological approach only. Truly, when we tried to know God by our human nature mind, we are outside of the dimension of God, so we just can see the nature of God is limited by what God has shown, like to the other who are not believe in Jesus Christ.
As the people of God, we have access to explore the nature of God. Firstly, knowing God is his initiative, and we have to explore by our experience with God. How can we explore it? Just by come into His dimension.
Back to the illustration. To explore the ice mountain the man has to come closer to the mountain, and come into its dimension, if needed, he has to diving and explores anything that couldn’t see from the surface of the sea. I believe that the man will find everything that he can’t find at the surface.
Human have three dimensions, and these are body (physical), soul (psychological) and spirit (spiritual). Spiritual dimension is an important component to know God in His dimension, because the spirit of God that have been imparted to us. Paul wrote: “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God” (1Cor 2:10-12 - KJ version).
So, to know God in His dimension, we have to walk in the Spirit (Gal 5:25), because they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Rm 8:8). Paul wrote: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Rm 8:15) and they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit (Rm 8:5b).
Explore the nature of God in His dimension, and you will find His glory and greatness that you have never seen before. Knowing God is not impossible thing, if we do it in His dimension.
